Listen in as Leif Sylvester and radio host Carsten Dahl talk about the many forms of love – romantic, artistic and familial – and how love and creativity go hand in hand. Sylvester has been married three times and is a father of five. His first marriage was to his high school sweetheart Ingelise – a relationship that lasted 19 years. His most publicly known love was with singer Eva Madsen, with whom he not only paired but also became musical partners in the orchestra Sylvester and the Swallows. Together they created immortal classics such as Friheden flyver and Mormors kolonihavehus.
📍The conversation takes place in the ballroom. The ticket includes access to the major exhibition Leif Sylvester – Freedom Flies in the lower floor of the museum.
Four talks in total
Leif Sylvester is a living piece of Danish history. For five decades, he has insisted on bringing art down from the pedestal and out to the people. The desire for freedom, humor and social indignation run like a common thread throughout Leif Sylvester’s work – and form the focal point of a total of four conversations with radio host Søren Dahl:
- Childhood (Thursday, October 23, 2025)
- Youth (Thursday, January 29, 2025)
- Love
- Achieving your goals with art (Thursday, May 28, 2026)
