While the Social Democratic Party, along with a number of left-wing parties, has been the political part of the labor movement throughout the 20th century, the trade union movement has been the trade union movement.

Collective organization of workers in trade unions has been the central starting point for the labour movement’s struggle for better working and wage conditions. Since 1934, pension funds have played a role in the labor movement’s fight to secure its members.

ABA holds a wide range of union archives, from small unions to LO’s extensive archive. In addition, the ABA also contains material from e.g. student movements and pension funds. On this page you can read stories from some of the ABA’s union collections and find access to a number of key union archives.
