Things to Know When Visiting with Children

A museum visit with children should be both fun and manageable. Here’s what you need to know when visiting the Workers Museum as a family.

The Children’s Working Museum

At the Children’s Working Museum and in the Children’s Backyard, you can play your way into history as a child in 1930s Copenhagen. Here you can touch, explore and move everything around. But we ask that you put things back in their proper place when you’re done. Read more about the Children’s Labor Museum here.

Food and Drink

You can eat in the banquet hall if it is not occupied by events. If you buy drinks in the coffee shop on the first floor, you can also eat your food there. Read about the coffee shop here. Eating and drinking is not allowed in the exhibitions.

Babies and toddlers

You will find baby‑changing facilities in the accessible toilet, conveniently located to the left of the shop. The area is spacious and well equipped, offering a calm, comfortable, and safe setting for taking care of your child.

Bags and prams

You are welcome to bring bags and prams into the exhibitions (please note that this does not apply to certain temporary exhibitions). You can also store your belongings in the cloakroom lockers, and prams may be parked on the ground floor – feel free to ask our museum hosts where it’s best to place them.

Children at the museum

Children are not permitted to visit the museum on their own and must always be accompanied by an adult. This also applies to the Children’s Workers Museum.

Ask a museum host

You can always find a museum host in the shop, in the coffee shop or on your way around the exhibitions. Don’t hesitate to ask them questions or ask for help.
