The banquet hall
Feel the breath of history and the power of community
The Banquet Hall is the heart of the Workers’ Assembly Hall, and since 1879, it has hosted everything from political meetings and general assemblies to Christmas tree parties and anniversaries. This is the reason the Banquet Hall is a protected cultural heritage site. In 2021, the Banquet Hall underwent an extensive restoration, including new air conditioning, award-winning lighting designs, new speakers, and sound systems.
The Banquet Hall is ideal for large meetings, conferences, debates, corporate events, receptions and anniversaries. The Banquet Hall has a balcony that can be used for standing receptions, as well as a side wing that can be used for a bar, cloakroom, or stalls.

Historic premises and restored craftsmanship
One of the very first victories of the labour movement was the opening of the workers’ very own house, the Workers’ Assembly Hall in Rømersgade, in April 1879. It is the first of its kind in Europe.
The Assembly Hall quickly became the movement’s headquarters with trade union offices, newspaper editorial offices, and a meeting place for thousands of people. The Assembly Hall was the setting for political meetings, founding general meetings, workers’ parties, song evenings, Christmas tree parties, and much more.
In 2021, the Banquet Hall underwent an extensive restoration. The overall look of the room is even more beautiful and atmospheric, and the many craftsmanship details and works of art now really come to their right.
