for families
A visit to a museum with children should be both fun and easy. Here is all the information you need when visiting the museum as a family.
the Children’s Workers Museum
The Children’s Workers Museum and the Children’s Backyard are designated areas where children can play their way into history and experience the life of a child in 1930s Copenhagen. Here you can touch, explore, and dress up.

👜 Bags and strollers
We have elevators for every floor, and you are welcome to bring both bags and strollers into the exhibitions (with the exception of some temporary exhibitions). Of course, you are also welcome to leave your belongings in the wardrobe, where there are lockers that can be locked with a code. You can also leave your stroller on the ground floor. Ask the museum hosts for a good place to leave it.
👶 Babies and toddlers
There is a baby changing station in the disabled toilet by the museum shop.
👨👩👧👦 Children must be accompanied by adults
Children are not allowed in the exhibitions alone and must always be accompanied by an adult. This also applies at the Children’s Workers Museum.
🥪 Eating and drinking
In the coffee shop on the 1st floor, you can buy sweets, sodas, and much more. You can bring your own food to eat in the banquet hall – if it is not closed for events. If you buy drinks in the coffee shop, you can eat your food there as well. Eating and drinking is not allowed in the exhibitions.
👋 The museum hosts
You can always find a museum host in the shop, coffee shop or on your way around the exhibitions. Don’t hesitate to ask them questions or ask for help.
