What is DRØMMEFABRIK?
At the Workers’ Museum, we have been working strategically with young people and democratic education since 2013. With the project DREAM FACTORY, we continue this work and focus on young women and girls who experience low mental health and self-confidence. We do this because at the Workers’ Museum we want to strengthen the will for an equal and just society and see it as a democratic problem that half of the girls in secondary school experience low self-esteem and that almost every fourth girl experiences low life satisfaction, as this can put a stop to their development and confidence in their own abilities and participation opportunities.
In DRØMMEFABRIKKEN, based on the previous exhibition WOMEN’S LIFE, we will develop and strengthen the mental health of young women and girls through project work, electives, free education and specially designed workshops in collaboration with NGOs and organizations. The aim is that the women and girls, through communities and encounters with historical women’s lives and struggles, can develop their agency and courage in a society characterized by pressure to perform and high expectations. This will hopefully strengthen their ability to dream and to bring that dream to life, just as women have done before them.
