Data responsibility

The purpose of Arbejdermuseet’s personal data policy is to explain how we collect, protect and use personal data in connection with the purchase and use of Arbejdermuseet’s offers and services. We fully respect all requests for confidentiality of personal information and we are aware of the need for appropriate protection and proper processing of all personal information we receive. The Workers’ Museum is committed to protecting your personal information, regardless of where that information is collected, how it is disclosed or stored.

What personal data does the Workers’ Museum collect about its users?

The Arbejdermuseet only collects and processes the personal data that is necessary in order to provide the services and information you request, and to evaluate and improve the Arbejdermuseet’s services to users.

In connection with the delivery of material to the Arbejdermuseet’s archive and museum collections, the Arbejdermuseet collects additional personal data. You can contact the Workers’ Museum at indsamling@arbejdermuseet.dk if you have any questions in this connection.

Disclosure of personal data

The Workers’ Museum does not disclose or sell personal data to third parties without your consent in each individual case.

Deletion of personal data

The Workers’ Museum deletes your personal data when it is no longer necessary for the purpose for which we collected, processed and stored it. In connection with bookings and purchases of services and goods, we store the data for five years in accordance with the Danish Bookkeeping Act. Where the deletion of personal data differs from this is indicated below under the relevant sections.

Disclosure of personal data in connection with donation

If you donate money to the Workers’ Museum, you have the opportunity to receive a tax deduction for the donation if the museum reports your CPR number.

Your CPR number is only collected and stored with your explicit consent and solely for the purpose of disclosing it to the Danish tax authorities to ensure that you can claim a deduction for your financial contribution to the Workers’ Museum.

Receiving newsletters

If you sign up for the Work Museum’s newsletters, your name and email will be collected and stored until you unsubscribe from the newsletter. Updating the information and unsubscribing can be done through the link at the bottom of each newsletter sent out.

Borrowing books

If you want to borrow books from the Arbejdermuseet library, you can register as a user in the library database. Information about your book loans is deleted after the loan is registered as returned. Personal data is removed from user profiles after one year of inactivity.

Ordering archival material

In order to search for lost, damaged and violated terms of use of archival material, personal data of patrons of analog and digital archive material is not deleted.

Delivery of material to archive and museum collections

In order to ensure the long-term administration of the cultural heritage in the collections of the Workers’ Museum, personal data about donors of material to the collections is not deleted.

Cookies are used

The Workers’ Museum website uses cookies in its setup to make the site more user-friendly and targeted.

A cookie is a small text file that is stored in your browser so that your computer, tablet or mobile phone can be recognized on return visits. The file cannot contain viruses. Data from cookies cannot be used to collect personal information about you. No information from cookies is passed on or sold to third parties.

The website uses cookies from the Google Analytics tool to measure and analyze website traffic so that we can deliver a better user experience. You can opt out of cookies from Google Analytics.

We also use cookies for marketing purposes so that we can target Arbejdermuseet’s ads.

If you do not want information to be collected, you should block and delete your cookies. You may risk that the website will not function optimally and that there will be content that you cannot access.

Protection of personal data in connection with recruitment

In connection with recruitment at the Workers’ Museum, we process your personal data as stated in this policy. Arbejdermuseet & Arbejderbevægelsens Bibliotek og Arkiv, CVR no.: 72867211, Rømersgade 22, 1362 Copenhagen K, (“Arbejdermuseet” or “we”) is the data controller with regard to the personal data collected and processed in connection with the processing of your application.

We process the information, including personal data, contained in your application and CV for the purpose of evaluating your application. We recommend that your application does not contain sensitive personal data, such as information revealing racial or ethnic background, religion, trade union membership, sexuality, health information, etc.

If the position in question requires you to complete personality tests or similar, you will be informed of this when we have processed your application. The results of such tests are treated confidentially, but are included in our assessment of your application. The results will be deleted when the evaluation process is completed.

In some cases, you will also be asked to provide a copy of your criminal record and/or child certificate depending on the position in question. Such information will also be treated confidentially.

The basis for our processing of your personal data is your request for us to process your application and CV prior to entering into an employment contract and your consent.

As part of our evaluation of you and your application, we may obtain references from your previous and/or current employers. We will only obtain references if you have given your consent.

If you are offered a position at the Workers’ Museum, your application and additional personal data collected in connection with the employment will become part of your personal employee file with us.

If you are not offered a position, we will retain your application and any additional personal data collected in connection with the recruitment process for a period of six months after our rejection, unless you have given your consent to a longer retention of such data.

Applications sent unsolicited to the Workers’ Museum will be stored for a period of six months after a decision has been made on them.

You may at any time revoke any consent you have given as part of the application or during the recruitment process. Withdrawal of consent will have effect for the future processing of your personal data. If you wish to withdraw consent, you can contact us as stated below.

You have the right to access the personal data that we process about you, subject to certain statutory exceptions. You also have the right to object to the collection and further processing of your personal data. You also have the right to request that the processing of your personal data be restricted, that your personal data be rectified if necessary, or that your personal data be erased in certain cases.

In exceptional circumstances, you may also request an overview of your personal data in a well-structured, common and machine-readable format and ask us to transfer such data to another controller.
