General terms and conditions<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In order to use the archives, it is a condition of signing that you undertake to comply with the terms and conditions stated in the license. The license is personal and valid for one year. The material may only be used for the project for which access has been requested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Photography<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

By contacting the archive’s staff, you can take limited photographs of the records you are working with. Not all records may be photographed. Letters, entire case files and personal records, such as diaries, are generally not allowed to be photographed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, the access permit may have special conditions regarding photography, e.g. “No photography\/copying”. Copying also includes full transcription, photocopying and scanning of documents or use of a dictaphone. Photographs of archive material are for personal use only, must be destroyed after completion of the project and may not be passed on to others without permission from the Workers’ Museum & ABA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Publication of archive materials<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Anyone who is granted access to use the archive materials must not misuse or unauthorizedly publish and disclose the information. Publication of archival records must be done in accordance with the Copyright Act. Publication means publication in all media, including books, journals, newspapers, radio, TV, internet, CD-ROM, etc. The access permit only gives access to summaries, characterizations or short quotes. Names of persons without independent political responsibility may not be passed on or published. The application must clearly state whether it concerns the publication of entire documents or large fragments, and in which media the transmission or publication will take place. Such publication of entire documents or parts of documents can only take place by agreement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Use of records in the reading room<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Records for use in the archive reading room will be available by appointment. If ABA is not contacted by email within one month of receiving the archive permit, the archives will be returned to the repository and it will take up to two weeks for the archives to be retrieved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To ensure that the originals can continue to be made available to users, the following points must be observed during the work:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Archives may only be used in the archive reading room.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Handle the records with care. Do not use self-adhesive labels on the records and, of course, do not write on the documents.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Only have one archive box open at a time so that archive material from different boxes does not get mixed up.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Place letters and other material in their place in the tray so that they don’t wrinkle or get damaged in any other way.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Make sure that documents are always placed back in the drawer or box from which they were taken and in the order they were placed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Put the right lid on the right box. If the box is put back in the wrong place, it is almost impossible to find the material again.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
